For being considered paranormal romance, it comes off as more urban fantasy with romantic elements than the typical PNR. He feels an intense pull toward her despite his hatred, and is assigned to protect her when several threats are made on her life.

In the series, Claire Pryce first becomes the new owner of Buckland Auction House after New Year, after the predecessors ( Rex Buckland and Hannah Webster) were vanquished. George is your partner on this investigation, and as a fellow cop, he’s someone you feel like you can really trust. The story contains explicit content, graphic violence, profanity, and topics that may be sensitive to some readers. Xander does turn it around, but his dislike of Kyra (without actually knowing her) is a bit offputting for a while. I never got sucked into the story like I often do, I think in part because the accents were a bit thick for me.I just could not read fast enough to satisfy my complete obsession with Xander and Kyra and their journey through this complicated fantasy world created by Taylor. Could’ve used a bit more of an explanation and apology from Xander but that’s my own personal preference and trope. I think a lot of people might like it because it checks alot of boxes that people like, such as paranormal romance, fae and demons, different realms, fantasy, but I just didn’t feel connected to the story. I'm not a huge fan of a lot of sexual content, but it's not over done in this book; it didn't get annoying or boring, which I usually find when reading novels with an excess. She collects crystals, house plants and dark lipstick, and has two young children who like to ‘help’ with her writing by slamming their hands across the keyboard.
