This sunscreen uses so-called "chemical", or organic UV filters (organic simply means that their molecules contain atoms of carbon). These filters typically give good sun protection and rarely leave a white cast, but they can be irritating for sensitive skin. These are the sun protection ingredients in this sunscreen: oxybenzone 2.50% - 3.10%, avobenzone 3.10% - 3.80%, octisalate 2.10% - 2.60% and octocrylene 6.00% - 7.30%. Irritation risk Body - apply Miracle Tan immediately after showering/bathing and drying. Pay particular attention to any dry areas. Apply at least once daily. What I liked about the Lancaster accelerator is that it contains no self tan. It just states that it enhances melanin production. Quite how, I’m not sure as I could never find out the active ingredient and could never find nothing else on the high street that claimed to do the same job. Until now! Chances are you probably know all there is to know about Superdrug, but if you don’t then here’s a little more detail about them. Clinically proven to be kind to skin, it can be used as a pre-tan, to accelerate tanning, or to maintain a tan, producing a natural, deep colour. Cruelty-free
So it goes without saying, that when I get a real tan, I want to make it last as long as humanly possible before the winter pale sets in. This involves a lot of skin preparation before travelling – exfoliating, moisturising, that sort of thing, and most importantly of all: a tanning accelerator/prolonger.
