The Dyson V8 is a powerful unit that offers one of the longest run times we have seen from a cordless stick vacuum. Several third party batteries are also available, so the cost of this part depends on which company’s battery you select. The Tineco PURE ONE S11 and Dyson V8 are somewhat evenly-matched cordless stick vacuums, though the Tineco is slightly better overall.

It’s light and manoeuvrable, it’s portable and rechargeable and, since it has exactly the same V8 motor that powers the V8 Absolute, it’s powerful enough to dig right down into your carpets and clean just as well as those heavier machines. It easily slots in and out, so easily that it is frequently taken down for just a quick scoot around, or a once-over clean up. Do consider that newer versions of the V8 come bundled with Dyson's Motorbar floorhead, the same one included with the Dyson V12 Detect Slim, which has built-in vanes that do a great job of trapping hair before it can get wrapped around the roller. This battery is only compatible with machines that feature serial numbers starting with G1M, E4Z, TT8, RA5, ZW8, RA6, YA6. It also makes slightly less noise while running and performs better on bare floors and high-pile carpet.

The included docking station, which can be placed in a variety of positions, can be used to charge the vacuum in five hours. Plus, now that there are both the Dyson Cyclone V10 and V11 on the market, it’s no longer the best of the best. Dirt compartment: You can open the dirt compartment by pressing the red release valve at the top of the vacuum's body. The filter is also washable, so you can keep the V8 ANIMAL EXTRA looking good as new for years to come.
