The gloss finish on the wood earcups is excellent, the embroidered stitching on the protein leather headband looks elegant, while the metal linkages that secure the earcup and the headband emphasises the Robin’s natural, homespun feel. The Robin are a handsome pair of headphones. Hiroyuki Sawano – Pretenders (01:18-01:47), cleaner on the KPH30i due to it having a tighter/faster and a bit lower bass quantity. Texture is similar while the tonality is more accurate on the KPH30i. Sivga SV021 Robin Vs vs Soundmagic HP 1000 (150 USD vs 300 USD) – I like the thing Soundmagic has been doing with their headphones, but comparing the two feels slightly unfair to me, as HP1000 is much more expensive, and also goes for a widely different sonic presentation. The comfort is better on SV021, which is lighter, has deeper and softer earcups, and has less of a hotspot at the top of the head. The construction quality is better on HP1000, but it results in a higher weight. Both have slightly proprietary cables. Neither doesn’t come with balanced cables from the factory. The sonic signature is bright, brilliant, clean, detailed, wide and neutral. By comparison, SV021 sounds dark, but deeper, with more bass quantity, a deeper bass, a more dynamic sound, and with less focus on treble and a much more recessed midrange.

One day the right side did not make any sound, not even noise, or scratch etc. Brought to a hifi shop and was told the right driver is kaputt, and there are no replacmenet parts. (I do not believe them that they opened and tested them, but cannot proof it). I highly doubt you’ll snap any of the Robin SV021 headband areas with it being metallic in nature and the headphone is pliable in the clamping pressure enough to not stiff enough to warrant a problem if you tossed it on a couch or a bed or something similar.The sv021 isn’t for everyone and I think that’s one of the most important parts of headphone recommendations to consider. We’ll run through these headphones in detail, highlighting where they excel and for whom they may fall a little short. The overall clarity is good and detail retrieval is moderate. This is a headphone that I could listen to for long sessions without feeling fatigued; the sound is crisp without being bright and the bass is not overpowering either. It might seem like a mundane starting point, but we're seriously impressed by the Sivga Robin's cables. Wired headphones always carry the risk (and irritation) of turning into a jungle of cables that are impossible to untangle. Somehow, the Sivga Robin don't have this issue. The combo of effective passive isolation, small size, lightweight, high-efficiency, and rotating earcups make the Oriole an excellent choice for commuters and portable listing. I’ve become used to the higher-end, sister-brand Sendy Audio and Sivga products that come bundled with a distinctively shaped hard case and beautiful braided balanced cable. For the Oriole (and Robin), the bundle is leaner. The treble range of the SIVGA SV021 is in general more pronounced, detailed and shows a better sense of extension. The FiiO EH3 NC is less detailed and energetic in this area and offers a smoother and more relaxed presentation. Hiroyuki Sawano – Pretenders (01:18-01:47), mid-bass quantity is a lot higher on the D1100 and is more textured. Faster and tighter on the SV021 though. But more tonally accurate as well as better timbre on the D1100.In terms of timbre, I find the lower end of the spectrum to sound pretty natural and accurate. However, I find the top end to be slightly sharper and brighter than what I would consider as "natural". Let's start by saying the Robin is not only built solid but it's beautiful as well. A fine example of a wooden headphone. Bass fans will maybe want to give these a miss but for anyone looking for reliable balance, the Sivga Robin know how to hit the spot nearly every time.

Did I achieve my goal? Mostly yes. There is still a small space behind the ear-pads, but I can physically feel the isolation, and can also hear the improvement in the sonic performance — it sounds much like the sonic performance I heard while I was physically holding the ear-cups against my ears. As you will find out, I will make a number of observations and comparisons between the SV021 and the Phoenix. In theory, the two should sound alike due to the mutual driver… It should be noted that I have absolutely no affiliation with Sivga, I am not receiving any incentive for this review or to sweeten things out. I’d like to thank Sivga for providing the sample for this review. Every opinion expressed is mine and I stand by it. The purpose of this review is to help those interested in the Sivga Robin SV021 find their next music companion. Please note that I will use the names Sivga Robin and Sivga SV021 interchangeably throughout the review, as naming the headphones Robin makes my job so much easier. The highs are energetic with nice air and sparkle on top, details are good, and the treble doesn't get overwhelming. Midrange – Robin has a recessed lower-midrange because of a wide band 4-5dB dip around 500Hz. As a result, it has a leaner presentation but doesn't tend too lean as the bass boost adds lots of weight to the signature. What I also hear this dip doing is pushing snares deeper into the soundstage and increasing perception of depth as a result. Robin does have a forward upper-midrange presentation but lesser ear gain than the Harman Target. As a result, guitars and orchestral instruments have a little less forwardness and presence as they do in Sennheiser HD650/HD6XX (which have as much ear gain as the Harman Target), but do not sound recessed as such. In fact, the overall signature actually presents guitars, drum shells (particularly snares) and even vocals in a very vibrant manner without any shout or peakiness.

As I said at the start, I was certain that I wasn’t going to like these, based on the graphs and the descriptions by other reviewers. The strange thing is that, while they sound like I expected them to, I don’t dislike them, in fact, I find that they make me feel very relaxed as soon as I put them on. To be honest, I’m highly disappointed with this release. Almost to the point where I’m hurt. Having such a great past experience with both SIVGA and its products, this feels like a major let down. The Robin SV021 is generally a warm-sounding headphone. It has rich bass, vocals are not recessed and the trebles are crisp and clear. It’s fun and musical in general; and I think it would be a good headphone for casual listening, media consumption, and even gaming. I just don’t recommend this for mixing and critical listening session. You’ll have to look for a neutral and natural-sounding headphone, like the LCD-X, if that’s what you are after. I have said many times that I am not someone who enjoys overly present bass,nor extra warm sound signatures, and these are basically everything that I would say I don’t enjoy, but I do.

IN CONCLUSION:​The Sivga "sv021" Robin is a good upgrade over the infamous ATH-m50x with better bass, treble, instrument separation, soundstage, and almost everything else (expect for bass speed). The Sivga Robin SV021 marks an interesting addition to the brand’s lineup. It’s a very comfortable headphone and the attractive design alone is enough to garner interest from anyone who sees it. Furthermore, it comes in at a price point that will be accessible for a lot of enthusiasts. Company Overview​Sivga was established in Dongguan city, China in 2016. Being a comprehensive enterprise, Sivga integrated research and design (R&D) with production and customer service. Their main focus is on innovating and producing high-quality headphones to meet the needs of the high-end audiophile community. Corey King’s vocals in Fade from Fly Moon Die Soon and Zara McFarlane’s in Everything is Connected are served well by the warmth and smoothness on offer, with the Sivga giving vocals good presence within the soundstage. Bass is presented with solidity and depth, while at the top end of the frequency range the warm tone does reduce the sharpness and brightness of those highs. The SIVGA SV021has an impedance of 32 Ohms and sensitivity of about 105dB, which looks pretty efficient on paper. However, I suggest you to pair it with sources that do have better levels of amplification, such like portable or desktop amplifiers (xDuuo XA10, FiiO Q5s, PALAB M1-Mini) or powerful DAP’s (iBasso DX220 MAX, iBasso DX300) that do offer a much better synergy and overall sound performance. The positive effect of such sources was especially audible in the lower frequency register.This warranty extends only to personal use & does not extend to any product that has been used for commercial use, rental use, or use that is not intended. There are no warranties other than expressly set forth herein. It’s a balancing act that gives the vocals presence and clarity, but when it goes too far, can sound a touch harsh. The Oriole’s lean signature does well with fast, energetic music. As with other models, Sivga opts for a build using wooden cups and (faux) leather covered headband and pads.
