Although she doesn’t know it at the time, she suspects it, but she doesn’t know it by killing this fairy. One thing I love about her is how she has a passion for sewing and fashion, but that doesn't make her any less strong. I’m assuming the author was inspired by the late 19th or early 20th century, as are rifles and piping and electricity in this fantasy world of 9 nine realms—though with less rigid royals. And, of course, the way you’ve described it as a ‘Slytherin romance’ does have me wanting to add this to my TBR immediately!

This is where I feel like we could have had a more profound story on our hands with all these details hiding below the surface of the book, but I digress. i started this when i got home from work and stayed up until 2am (even though i knew i had to get up early) because i just could not.
Her books include Daughter of the Pirate King, its sequel Daughter of the Siren Queen, Warrior of the Wild, The Shadow Between Us, Blade of Secrets and its sequel Master of Iron, all published or forthcoming from Pushkin. First, the main "villain" (if you do not count Alessandra as the villain of the story) was very obvious.

Plus the smart solutions, plans, and politics laid out throughout the plot which were simply delightful— Tricia Levenseller is all about showing, and that’s what made the cleverness of the characters so tangible. I felt like this book had strong female empowerment vibes, from Alessandra’s friendship with Rhoda and Hestia, to how Kallias respects Alessandra’s every move. Alessandra: Disarmingly clever and conniving, shamelessly confrontational, unfaltering and no-nonsense, ruthlessly craving power, arrogantly ambitious, vengeful, selfish, independent, and thorough, she made me fall head over heels in love with her from the very first sentence of the book. I’ll have spoilers clearly marked, so you are free to read on if you’re still deciding whether you should read this book or not! Being a ruthless conqueror, the Shadow King has many enemies, and he is unwilling to bequeath such power for something as unimportant as love.SHADOWS has been out for just over a week now, and I wanted to say thank you to everyone for your support! At the time, all I could think of was the fact that I’d given everything to Hektor: my first kiss, my love, my body.
