About this deal

By following the delicate and repetitive patterns in the motifs, you can finally soothe your mind, slow down and treat yourself to much-needed me-time and peacefulness. I love that you embroidered the mandala onto Manchester linen, it makes it look thoroughly modern and with the funky colours, unique. In addition, there are notes on what you need in your basic embroidery kit - from fabrics through to needles and thread - which means those new to embroidery can start their journey to mindfulness right away.

And I think Mandalas to Embroider is a perfect introduction to embroidery, as you can build your confidence by practicing your stitching on the smaller patterns, or do as I did and jump right into a large one! So sit back, pick up your needles and lose yourself in the captivating, calming world of embroidery. I was unable to find anyone to credit this stunning photo to – if you’re the photographer, let me know! Suggestions for colors and stitches are provided, but stitchers can customize based on individual preferences.

By following the delicate and repetitive patterns in the motifs, you can finally soothe your mind, slow down and treat yourself to much-needed me-time and peacefulness. We’ve been an integral part of how the craft community has grown, changed, and evolved over the last couple of decades—and how it has recently exploded in size and expanded in all kinds of exciting new directions. Once you have completed your embroidery, you can turn it into a wall hanging using the embroidery hoop or alternatively this would make a pretty cushion design.

There is also a final, mystical mandala template included for you to transfer, allowing you to test your new embroidery skills and develop your new-found creativity. I saw it online in our library system, last week, and after looking through it, want a copy of my own. Floral motifs figure prominently, including seasonal designs featuring cherry blossoms and poinsettias, as well as stylized and Scandinavian-style flowers. The mandalas are stitched using just ten simple stitches, and there are instructions on how to use a hoop and other basics.

If readers are less confident about jumping straight into embroidery or are pressed for time 24 corresponding black and white motifs can be found on transfer sheets at the back of the book, which you can iron onto your chosen fabric multiple times. Not all are stitched on white which is good, and there are some ideas as to what to stitch them onto if you dont just want to leave them in hoop frames. I especially like the fact that all the designs are printed on transfer paper at the back of the book. But instead of a white background I went for a more muted look and used a Manchester Linen in Taupe. There’s lots of brilliant instructions but by the same token you can do them your own way for example using beads and shisha mirrors like I will be doing. By the end of the project, I felt very confident with the stitches used in this pattern, and I’m ready to learn some of the other stitches for my next embroidery project!
