About this deal

An influential review of the album was written by Dylan critic Michael Gray for the magazine Let It Rock. Until 1991, only one of the five New York acetate recordings that were subsequently replaced on the official album was officially released: " You're a Big Girl Now", released on 1985's Biograph. Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description.

It remains one of Dylan's best-selling studio releases, with a double-platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for at least two million copies sold in the United States. The first couple of times I played the Mobile Fidelity LP, I missed some of the edge in Dylan’s voice on “Idiot Wind” and “Tangled up in Blue. Nobel Prize for Literature (2016) - On October 13, 2016, Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature for “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition”.The producer, Phil Ramone, later said that Dylan transitioned from one song to another as if they were part of a medley. Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts" was, until 2018, the only song from the New York sessions that had not been officially released in any form. Dylan's early lyrics incorporated politics, social commentary, philosophy and literary influences, defying existing pop music conventions and appealing widely to the counterculture of the time. But repeat listens reveal more emotional depth in his singing and a tenderness in many of the lines not as evident on the earlier LP.

For me this is the weakest track on the the album because it doesn't really fit in, but would have sounded goos on Desire, which was more bluesy. A start-to-finish cycle that documents a lover's pursuit of, entanglement with, and loss of a woman, the bracingly intimate 1975 effort remains one of the most encompassing break-up albums ever made and ranks as the most personal statement of the Bard's career. Some of his songs, such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are A-Changin'", became anthems of the anti-war and civil rights movements, with Joan Baez and Dylan singing together at the March on Washington in 1963.However he later became disenchanted with the civil liberty protest scene, feeling that he had been used by them. Inevitably, when critics praise a new Dylan album, they label it the "best since Blood on the Tracks," and with good reason. The songs have been linked to tensions in Dylan's personal life, including his estrangement from his then-wife Sara.
