About this deal

We have many designs of plastic skirting boardssuited to the wet environments of the bathroom, kitchen and utility room. Completely impervious to moisture, our plastic skirting boards are ideal for kitchen, bathroom and utility room environments. MDF and wood skirting boards take up moisture and in time need repair or replacing. Installation of our plastic skirting boards in your kitchen, bathroom or utility room requires only DIY skills. Cut your mitres with a saw and use our adhesive and jointing compound to attach. This means it is easy to install not only to plastered walls, but plaster board and almost any surface. A key point to make is that PVC skirting boards are not suitable for use in any high-rise buildings because they do have a certain degree of flammability and the materials used can release harmful fumes. Ease Of Installation In a normal everyday bathroom, there will be moisture in the air. Our MDF skirting boards can easily cope with this due to their moisture resistant properties. Moisture Resistant Doesn't Mean Waterproof Skirting boards above 10 cm – it is suited for the rooms above 280 cm. A bit extravagant and flashy. In traditional interiors can disturb natural proportions and make a room seems smaller. But when consciously used they might be an additional asset to holistic interior design.

An interesting solution is the STIQ skirting board dedicated to vinyl floors. Due to its shape, colours, durability and water resistance, this skirting board is perfect for rooms with vinyl planks on a floor. Thanks to its narrow profile and modern shape, it fits perfectly in any room, underlining and enhancing the qualities of the floor. It is a perfect substitute for commonly used plinth. The STIQ skirting board is also distinguished by its colours. It is available in two very fashionable shades of grey – RAL 7035 and RAL 7045.For contemporary new builds, we would advise the installation of flexible or small skirting profiles to complement the ceiling height. One of our most popular skirting profiles for new builds is our SX163 Contemporary Skirting Board . A simplistic yet plush design, it complements minimalistic decor choices. Alternatively, we would suggest our SX125 Small Skirting Board which affords a curved style which is perfect for modern properties.

If you’re a homeowner, we don’t need to tell you how time-consuming and awkward it is to have to sand and paint skirting boards and architraves. With the PVC-U Roomline range, it’s a job you’ll never have to do again. What’s more, your skirting boards and architraves will stay looking clean and fresh for life. Simply wipe away any marks or stains in seconds, leaving your room trims looking as good as the day you fitted them. Never sand, paint or treat againWhilst we cannot definitively answer this question for all MDF skirting boards, we can for all products that we produce. This is because there are numerous different grades of MDF available to work with, but we only use an industrial grade of MDF that is Moisture Resistant and can be used as your bathroom skirting. One question we get asked a lot is whether the MDF skirting boards and architrave we produce can be used in bathrooms. The difference between a bathroom and other rooms in the house is the moisture content in the air, and this creates a fear that the skirting boards will get damaged somehow or become a breeding ground for mould. How easy to install? As long as you follow the manufacturer’s instructions and have a basic understanding of DIY mechanics, PVC skirting board can be installed relatively easily. It will require some time compared with timber or other materials but this should not present too much difficulty even for inexperienced householders who may only undertake occasional home improvements themselves. There are not too many tools required, All you need to do is know how to apply adhesive as per the detail in the instructions and you should be good to go. The same can also be said for areas that are prone to flooding. You would see the boards swell and distort under these conditions. The floor is the largest when it comes to covered area element of a home. It is not only up to floor planks itself to create the beautiful environment but well matched accessories can make a difference. Choice of the skirting boards in many cases can be done at the final stage of renovation or finishing apartment and hence can be overlooked. In the meantime, skirting boards has not only aesthetical purpose, but also important functional meaning. Its quality, durability and appearance can make or break to final outcome of interior. Well suited skirting will allow to emphasize the qualities of even the most beautiful floor. On the other hand, wrong skirting can optically reduce the size of the room or disturb its proportions. So what you should take into account while choosing skirting boards? Are skirting boards a must? Skirting boards are meant to cover dilatation gap by the wall.

One less DIY chore to worry about Grand Victorian properties benefit from skirting boards through their ability to create smooth transitions from high ceilings to the floor. Within our collection, we’d recommend that Victorian homeowners opt for our SX118 Skirting Board which complements traditional architectural structures. Alternatively, we would suggest our SX104 Lambs Tongue Skirting Board which can bend round curved walls and large bay windows. This design profile comes in both Lightweight Duropolymer and Flexible Purotouch. Our range of flexible skirting profiles are the perfect solution to finishing curved walls or bay windows. Slim Skirting Board for Contemporary BuildsPVC skirting boards are a great alternative to wooden skirting board, such as oak. PVC is much more durable and resistant to moisture, making it ideal for use in areas where there is a lot of moisture or humidity and high traffic areas. PVC is also much easier to clean and maintain than timber, making it a low-maintenance option. It must be highlighted, though, that there is a very real difference between something that is “moisture resistant” and “waterproof”. If you are decorating a wet-room for example then moisture resistant MDF skirting boards would not be appropriate. They would not repel large amounts of water. Similarly, if a property were to flood, you wouldn’t expect a skirting board to remain intact in this environment if it is manufactured from MR MDF. If you are looking for a fully waterproof skirting board then you may wish to consider other materials like UPVC plastic, tile or stone. Beside obvious purposes that we have covered above, skirting boards have important functional goal. They protect the wall from accidental damages that can occur while vacuuming or from soiling with the shoes or a mop. Skirting boards can absorb hits and protect the wall in the places most exposed to damages – close to the floor. How to choose a skirting board to make it look beautiful?

With that being said, we know our MDF skirting boards are fine for use in an average bathroom. However, we need to point out that our moisture resistant skirting is not waterproof. The biggest downside to using plastic skirting boards, and this applies across any type of material really – it looks cheap compared with wood which has a natural appearance that improves over time when oiled or varnished Traditional plastic skirting boards are cheap, waterproof, but often the visible mounting channel or protruding corners are visually disturbing. For vinyl panels, we can choose a skirting boards made of non-PVC material, eg VIDELIT. Videlit is an ecological material with special functional properties like water resistance and resistance to mechanical damage. Hybrid technology skirting boards are also a good solution, as they look beautiful and are completely waterproof at the same time. These skirtings are also highly resistant to mechanical damage. Third, bet on waterproof The phrase moisture resistant is used to describe boards that have a very dense core. This prevents the material from absorbing moisture and ensures that it lasts a lifetime (if not more!). Priming / Undercoating Adds Another Layer Of Protection

If our floor is waterproof, i.e. it is made of vinyl or laminated panels with increased resistance to moisture – the skirting boards should also be waterproof. This is an important principle worth following. Manufacturers offer a lot of waterproof skirting boards. The material we now use in place of our MDF is officially known as High Density MDF - hence the reason we refer to it as HDF. All of our MDF is now High Density MDF! PVC skirting is light and almost completely water-resistant, meaning it’s excellent for conserving heat in colder months thanks to its thermal insulation properties The boards are easy-to-maintain because they don’t need any polishing or sealing of wood surfaces from spills that occur during food preparation etc., so it’s a good option for those who don’t have the time or inclination to be faffed with wood Whether you’re a housebuilder with a major project on the table, a housing association managing a number of properties or a homeowner redecorating a room or two, Roomline PVC-U skirting boards and architraves are the ultimate hassle-free solution. So if you want to drastically cut installation times and eliminate the bother of maintenance, look no further! Fitted in half the time
