About this deal

Please Read Brand New, International Softcover Edition, Printed in black and white pages, minor self wear on the cover or pages, Sale restriction may be printed on the book, but Book name, contents, and author are exactly same as Hardcover Edition. Young readers might well identify with Jeanie’s occasional nervousness – and secretly wish that they too had a Nana who was as much fun. The first introduces Bad Nana, the second is an adventure in the park, and the third is a trip to the local history Museum. My son read this book and he questioned me why Jeanie hate Jack so much and I explained to him that maybe her younger brother did all of the things she didn't like just like he didn't like when his younger sister kicked down his Jenga tower as he finished building it.

This book is absolutely perfect for able young readers (6-8 years) looking for their first step into longer chapter books. For more details, please consult the latest information provided by Royal Mail's International Incident Bulletin. Messages on friendship and bullying are sensitively explored throughout and there is a lovely moment towards the end where Jeanie takes inspiration from her Bad Nana and speaks out. Neste primeiro livro a Jeanie, com sete anos, a falar sobre a sua família e especialmente sobre a sua Avó Sarilho. You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods.Henn’s decision to use a fabulous pink neon colour to dominate her lively illustrations fits in perfectly with the content of the stories – Bad Nana’s face when she gets angry, the park keeper’s uniform and Liberace the cat – it works brilliantly. Each chapter reads as a short standalone adventure of Nana's mischievous behaviour; perfect for children starting to read on their own, or as a class shared read or bedtime story to chuckle over. This first book of the series really feels like an appetiser, as the close relationship between Jeanie and her nana is only explored to a small extent, and there is a very enjoyable feeling that Bad Nana is holding some mayhem back for future episodes. Sophy Henn has written a rollickingly good read full of plenty of moments that will have readers laughing-out-loud. Bad Nana is a deliciously wicked new series for ages six and up, told through the eyes of 7 3/4-year-old Jeanie.

The final chapter – ‘Bad Nana Lends A Hand’ – is brilliantly paced as Nana comes along on the school trip to the boring local history museum. Bad Nana decided to take actions against the rules by using something in her purse while Jeanie and Jack kept a lookout for the park keeper.

She’s unlike Jeanie’s other grandmothers with her black dress, pointy black shoes and gigantic earrings ‘for a little bit of sparkle’. But if you, like me, grow weary of the TOTALLY up and down way of writing ALL THE words then you might just need to PUT DOWN the book and politely recommend it to people less easily affected. In this first episode, Bad Nana takes on a grumpy park keeper and a short-tempered museum guide, both of whom are committed to spoiling people’s fun, and Bad Nana refuses to allow such miserly behaviour. She studied Fashion at Central Saint Martins, accidentally had a London based career as an Art Director in advertising, then completed an MA at University of Brighton in Illustration. We meet her three best friends (although, Marcy is sometimes THE best friend) and her annoying younger brother, Jack.
