Right from the intro I could tell this books was different. I appreciated that the author has had her own struggles with weight loss and talks about them openly mentioning the three reasons she tended to gain weight. Then there were the people who knew and cared for me, who communicated their relief that I was finally thin. They treated my weight loss as a done deal, a solution to a problem that had been low-key concerning everyone for a while, not least because of how much it concerned me. Everything was fixed as far as other people were concerned, and I deserved praise, so they were happy to tell me how much better I looked.
