According to Neelakanta Jagdale, "The alcoholic beverages industry was not a priority in the country. Some of the data that are collected include the number of visitors, their source, and the pages they visit anonymously. Made using wheats and barley from Bangalore and water sourced from the Himalayan springs, Amrut takes pride in being 100% Indian. With a name that translates as 'thrice', Triparva showcases the experimental zeal of the Bangalore-based Amrut. They were the first Indian distillery to release a single malt and they continue to make whisky that can rival that from Scotland.

Radhakrishna died in 1976, and his son assumed the role of chairman and managing director of the company.

For this reason most of the Amrut single malts are released at around 4 years old - which taste wise are akin to much older whiskies from cooler countries, such as Scotland or Ireland.

Amurt Single malt whisky is made from selected Indian Barley grown in the foothills of the Himalayas. The barley is specially grown in the foothills of the Himalayas and the whisky is matured at 3,000ft at Bangalore.

The whisky is generally aged for four-and-a-half years, although it may be higher for some variants. Distilled in the 'plant capital' of Bangalore, each unit is matured in American Oak Barrels and filtered straight into the bottles to sustain its natural flavour and colour. Grown in the foothills of the Himalayas using the 'water of life' from the local rivers, this spirit truly captures the rich and colourful flavours of India. The city is situated at an altitude of 3000 feet above sea level and usually enjoys a moderate climate throughout the year.Established in 1948 as Amrut Laboratories and initially producing a variety of spirits and other alcoholic drinks for the domestic market, Amrut began producing malt whisky in the 1980s.
