Using only pure Jamaican molasses, Myers's Rum is made from continuous and pot still distillation and matured in white oak barrels. First produced by Fred L Myers in Jamaica in 1879 this rum is crafted in the great tradition of Jamaican dark rums. Nose: Notes of blackstrap molasses, hints of coffee, celery, allspice, hazelnut, and toffee with a subtle layer of ripe pineapple. It is this final aging period that plays a critical role in determining the distinctive dark colour and rich, buttery flavour that is synonymous with Myers's. Produced in Jamaica, Myers's rum continues to be distilled in the traditional pot still method and allowed to mature in white oak barrels. Beyond smoothness there's not much else going for it, faultless as a mixer but neat it's a bit two dimensional. It was instead completed before the end of the year and encompassed the sale of 19 brands, including Myers’s Rum. It is distilled at the Monymusk Distillery in Southern Jamaica in small batch copper pot stills twice and aged for 6 years in white oak barrels.
