About this deal

Since our founding in 2012, Bushcraft Essentials has stood for high-quality, well-designed outdoor stoves.

The Bushbox XL and its rival, the Firebox, provide a solution for this problem but with a weight penalty which is unacceptable to many, including myself. Naturally, starting the stove using wood takes longer, but means that I don’t need to use my emergency denatured alcohol. We wanted a stove that could accompany us on a round-the-world trip and could accommodate a whole range of fuel options. Its weight seems an issue to some, but the sturdiness and reliability that comes with it is well worth it. Comment by Bushcraft Essentials: Your XL must have been overheated for a while – maybe you had a large and hot fire going in it? The stove then slides out with ease and in less than 20 seconds you have a fully assembled stove ready for action!

now it is common sense that all stoves are not to be touched, they are like candle lights essentially but even they needs to be moved around when lighted now and then, luckily, these 'sticks' are included and can be used to move the stove but they ALSO get extremely hot fast, meaning that if they are attached to the stove too long (which is a very short time), even at the edge; Then the safety sticks will burn your hands and melt your perhaps EXPENSIVE outdoor gloves and ruin their waterproofness! So for a camper or hiker who prefers wood fire but who wishes it took a bit less work, or if you wish to leave as little trace in nature as possible, this is an excellent option. With this extraordinarily efficient, portable folding stove, you can easily boil water for several people, prepare food, grill meat and much more, using only little fuel. L'ho utilizzata già molte volte, insieme ai modelli intermedio e piccolo e devo dire che in ogni situazione mi sono trovato benissimo. Getting a fire going was quick and painless, and the XL is large enough to burn for a while without requiring constant feeding (depending on the wood you're burning).

The other guys on the trip plan to purchase one also because they can't grill anything with their Jet Boil systems. It comes in a rugged, hard wearing canvas type envelope with a velcro seal to keep the contents secure. Various notches allow for the Trivets to be inserted in different positions as required and ensure sufficient air supply between flame and cookware.

On top of the Bushbox XL Titanium they ensure safe standing even for smaller cups and cooking vessels. They mention it's a beautifully engineered product, with a superb design and quality of engineering. Apart from the weight the XL is an excellent product that would benefit from a second set of trivets as standard.

Don't get a smaller one to save money/weight - the firebox in this XL one can sustain a fire for 5min without refuelling, but a smaller one would need constant attention less time for cooking. Putting the trivets into the Bushbox slots for cooking and also storing the trivets on the Bushbox side can be a little fiddly, but this is a very minor thing. It’s not only the sustenance for our adventures but it’s the chance to tuck into something tasty and get joy from each mouthful.
