The gearbox is the highlight of the set for me, and I especially like how the gears are laid out in all three dimensions and rotate around different axes. wheel steering, 4 individually controlled outriggers, 2 cabins and super-high telescopic arm all add up to create an awesome crane!

tho the out-riggers and the articulated crane mounted on the rear of the truck does bring the model to life when you use the included power funtions you can't help but wish it would do more. And the outmost function on the shuttle was done with a micromotor - just really neat compared to the handoperation on this model.The manual lock on the outriggers doesn't really bother me that much - I could happily live with that. In addition to its two cabins, the LEGO Technic Mobile Crane (42108) stands out in particular for its high telescopic boom. I pulled hairs trying to figure out why I couldn't make the crane fold into a compact state like in the final photo.
