About this deal

I tend to use slightly more cake mix per portion compared to a cupcake, as I find they are slightly bigger than a cupcake. I use these mini loaf casesand they are just perfect. For the cake I decided to stay super basic, and go for a popular sponge base. My school cake sponge is always very popular as it’s a basic sponge, and I add vanilla to it. This is of course optional, you can flavour it any way – but I went vanilla. For an even better way to find KS1 resources, discover tailored suggestions, and much more - visit the KS1 resource HUB! GO TO KS1 HUB While we prepare to celebrate, we're looking for collectible items we can add to our home for a touch of celebratory flair. We've compiled a list of the best Coronation tins that double as memorabilia, and these collectibles are sure to become a very popular options for people looking for ways to remember this historic occasion. Plus, they're also a great gift idea if you're attending a street party, or just know someone who is a huge royal fan. Sainsbury’s said 71% of shoppers are planning to gather with family and friends to celebrate the coronation, with afternoon tea coming out on top of the list of activities by those surveyed. To help with the celebrations, Sainsbury’s has unveiled a ‘right royal range’ of bakery items.

The baked goods, which will be available in Asda stores and online from 27 April to 18 May, include:

I wanted to make a cake that really would suit making and serving for any celebrations for King Charles coronation, and this one is perfect. It’s easy, delicious, light and fun to make! It’s a showstopper, but still easy to serve. The Coronation Eggs – I used medium eggs, but if you have other sizes, weigh them in their shells and then match the other ingredients – get to as close to 400g as possible. You could use these activities to get children to understand how the King might be feeling in light of the upcoming coronation when writing letters. This will enable children to explore PSED as they engage in literacy.

Benji Lewis, an interior designer, says on decoration: "Whilst red, white and blue are clearly patriotic and you won’t be letting the side down by using these on your tabletop, the Coronation is clearly a massively rare and regal moment so bear that in mind when you consider things." Sugar – I used caster sugar as I wanted the colour and flavour to stay light, but you an swap it to light brown soft sugar if you want a more caramel flavour naturally.

Don’t forget!

The coronation oath is said by the new King and includes them swearing to govern faithfully with Justice and Mercy. 3. Get active! I mix the cake mix like normal; beat the butter and sugar together, add the eggs and flour and lemon extract and mix, and then split between the cases. To be super neat, I used a piping bag, but you can obviously spoon the mix in as well. If you’re keen on getting one as a souvenir for yourself or a gift for a loved one, browse through our favourite tins below.

The coronation, which will take place on 6 May, is one of the most-anticipated events of 2023. With events planned from the official ceremony to a coronation concert, it's sure to be a moment everyone will remember for years to come. These tins are not only good for reusing and housing your tea, coffee or biscuits in, but there are multiple other ways to display these tins like using it as a utensil holder, or adding salt or sugar for a countertop addition. As I wanted this to be slightly different to the other traybake recipes on my blog already, and I really wanted to make something light and delicious, I used whipped cream. This consists of double cream, icing sugar and a little vanilla to flavour the cream, whipped to peaks and then spread and piped on. Whether you’re planning a large street party or just a lowkey shindig with friends, there are a few things that you need to make the event extra special. For example, what to wear to a street party is something you should be looking at. Why not put your little ones to the test with a relay race – but not any old relay race… In honour of the coronation, why not challenge your little ones to race as fast as they can whilst balancing paper crowns or plastic crowns on their heads! This will not only inject a more exciting element to a great team activity but it will support balance and coordination.

We all know and love cupcakes, and loaf cakes, but why not combine the both?! There is something special that I adore about mini loaf cakes, and I just want to keep on baking them over and over. These little beauties are cute, fun, and so easy to make. They are perfect for any street party or celebration for the coronation in a few weeks time, enjoy! Coronation Emma Bridgewater has launched a kitchenware collection to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. And, the brand has just announced a 30% discount on the range! For the frosting, to fit the lemon theme a bit more, I did a lemon buttercream frosting. I love a light lemon buttercream, and when you make a super whipped buttercream frosting it is glorious. Step 4 To assemble, slice the cake in 1/2 horizontally. Place the base on a serving plate or board. Spread over the jam and top with the raspberries.
