About this deal

What an incredible book! I'm a reader who values the experience of reading a book just as highly as the book itself, and "Forget Me Not" managed to nail both categories perfectly. I read this book in a day, I literally couldn't stop reading. It is captivating in such a refreshing way, and as soon as I finished reading I immediately bought a copy. Two things to note: there IS a HEA, and there is no physical infidelity. One could make the argument that there is emotional infidelity, but I'm not sold on that. Here are my thoughts: These feelings are not futile, Eliza, they’re rooted and watered. We were always meant to grow this way, it’s divine nature.”

Her parents were shitty too. Her dad read as a lost cause, and I sensed something was up with the mum and was glad to be proven right. Tbh, the ending with them didn't make much sense to me. If my parents had those views I'd be cutting them out of my life. I never connected with either Eliza or Silas. You don’t really get very in depth with their characters beyond them having a hell of a lot of sex and making flowery love declarations. I wanted to see more of them as individuals, and together building their relationship beyond sex. I think that there are two passing mentions that they want to get to know each other beyond their bodies, but we never get to really see it. I wanted a lot more cute moments to balance the spice. The only romance is when they spend that day together before they even decide to be together. Now imagine one day, you actually see this person from your dreams. They’re a living, breathing human being that is standing in front of you, so close that you can touch them. But your life partner, someone you've planned a future with and love deeply, is also standing next to you. At the end of the day, who do you choose? It’s not often I read a book and think, “I’ll never be the same” after reading it, but that’s exactly how I feel after finishing Forget Me Not. It is a masterpiece in every sense of the word and I am in awe of the way Karissa’s mind works, not to mention that this is her debut novel. This box. It’s the only physical evidence I have of our two-year relationship, everything precious to me. If someone found this, they’d know everything, which is exactly why it needs to stay hidden for the next two months.Jinsong, is a sweet boy, but has a reputation he needs to protect. What will he do? He is drawn to Calliope. Will he see her as she is, irrespective of her tics?

And don’t get me started on deforestation. That’s a whole other—” She stops midsentence when I softly clear my throat into the phone. One thing I love about Nora is that she oozes passion. Pure unfiltered passion, for all kinds of things. It’s easy to get excited when you’re around her, even about stuff you never cared about before. Umm... this book was not for me.. I'm going to refrain from rating it, as I do not rate books that are not Romance. As I am a Romance book reviewer and by definition, this book does not fit the criteria. I can’t do this anymore tonight. I need sleep if I’m going to make it through another long day of holding this all in. And I know there’s only one thing that’s going to calm me down enough to get there. I just hope she doesn’t mind. This’ll be the second time in the past week that I’ll be calling and waking her up. The question she asked me was simple enough. What are your plans now that you’ve graduated? It should’ve been an easy answer, the same bullshit story I tell everyone, but I’ve been spending so much time thinking about my real plans that I almost told her the actual truth. I covered it, of course, but I could’ve ruined this whole thing. I need to be more careful the closer it gets.

Forget Me Not is in the running to be my favorite book of 2023 — and it's one of my favorite books I've ever read. This book was beautiful, heart-wrenching, vivid, and so, so absorbing. I refuse to shut up about this book until everyone has read it. (go on. read it!) I felt the way this was written, and handled, was done with such care and grace. It was truly an honour to read.
