About this deal

Maclaren has been producing buggies since the 1960s when former test pilot and aeronautical designer Owen Maclaren created the iconic blue and white striped buggy. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. It can also have it’s quirky moments with the brake although admittedly this seems to happens with all pushchairs.

If you travel, play in the city, or merely like to be as portable as possible, Maclaren has a stylish, sporty or svelte (or all three! It also has a little handle that you can pick it up and just place it where you need, in a car trunk or take it on plane with you by wearing it on your shoulder with the help of the carry strap. We have had a couple of minor spills and these were wiped clean with damp cloth and no marks left on the material. Our Quest is looking brilliant and ready for the new baby even though we used it for a long time with our toddler! The seat has a deep four-position recline that goes to almost a flat position suitable for a newborn. For rougher ground we tend to use back carrier as small wheels tend to find it hard going in and out of potholes. The Maclaren Quest Buggy is lightweight, folds easily and is suitable for children from birth up to three years (or 15kg).

They do advertise it as a one-hand fold, but you probably wouldn’t do it with just one hand because to engage the automatic lock you have to bend all the way down to the ground which will be difficult with a child in your hands. The Maclaren Quest Sport buggy has the sturdy but lightweight aluminium frame, which is almost synonymous with Maclaren. I can’t help comparing the Quest to my beloved Micralite Fastfold, and although it doesn’t have the ‘designer’ look, the Quest is narrower and easier to carry.

I think that gradually as he gets bigger we will use this one more as it is just that bit easier to manage and still feels quite solid.
