About this deal

I got it from I can't remember how many years ago, but I got it a while ago and I grew it from tiny little few tiny little leaves in the sandwich bag. From weird succulents to easy-to-care-for terrarium plants we have everything the avid plant collector might want.

Because I think a lot of people choose houseplants just based on what they like look off and try and make it work in that little corner. Wonder at the natural world with Not Another Jungle and curate and care for your own incredible collection of happy, healthy houseplants. People think that you read a care label on a plant that says, ‘Water every seven days’, or ‘Water every seven to 10 days’.As for people who are already fairly experienced in these topics (I don’t know how many hours I spent watching Youtube videos on this already), I found a couple parts that I really haven’t heard about before, like the way to propagate Alocasia, I just never looked it up until now and it was super interesting to learn about it. Well, that's a great metaphor for the overall amount of hard work that goes into producing a book like this. It was really, that was one of my favourite parts of the book, were the photoshoots and preparing the plants for the shoot as well. Tony is very aware of the damage that plant-poaching can have on our environment and that stripping plants from their natural habitat is a dangerous thing for the plant and for our environment.

But they have that sparkly veining through the leaf and the Anthurium sort of heart shaped leaves as well.I enjoyed the myth busting chapter in particular as many of the myths that are debunked are the ones that I have believed for many a year; I am happy to have them found false. The last message was important too; it’s easy for a hobby like this to become an obsession, and not only are rare houseplants a drain to our wallets but the high demand can severely endanger their live environments.

So I think, well, the reason it's been successful for me is because I forgot I had it for a long time I stopped. Tony Le-Britton is a self-taught grower and prolific houseplant collector of some of the world’s rarest plants. Regular readers will know that I am not keen having electric wires trailing around the garden and that I am a big fan of solar lights etc. I mean, this is illustrative of the fact that, you know, an easy plant for one person will be a super hard plant for another person.Maybe it's just that, you know, Kew's got a lot of plants, you've got a lot of plants, but maybe on a scale that when you can keep particular, yeah, you're gonna take particular care of it. Not only is this expertly written and backed up by Tony’s only experiences, but the photography (by Jason Ingram) only adds to making this a book of real importance for the houseplant community.
