About this deal

The remote works quite well. It controls flash settings, so you don't have to move away from your camera to switch to HSS or manual power control, and can control up to five groups of lights independently. The XPro TTL is one link in the chain where you'll need to keep AA batteries handy—it's powered by a pair. The V1 spreads out light with fresnel grooves, the same type used by lighthouses, to cast illumination in a pleasing, circular pattern—the same shape of light you get from larger monolights, like the Godox AD300Pro (also sold as the Flashpoint Xplor 300 Pro TTL R2). High-Power Flash: It is designed to provide a powerful flash that ensures better light control and consistent illumination of your images. In addition to its 10-level brightness adjustment feature, the previsualization and adjustment settings enable you to adjust the lighting levels and capture detailed shots even in low-light conditions. The V1 mounts directly onto a camera, but also includes a radio for off-camera use. If you have more than one V1, you can use one on-camera to control other flashes and compatible lights. I follow Thern in this one. I had a few Nikon flashes in the past but now it is Godox all the way (350-860-200-350-600's). These along with a trigger and you are all set for an unbeatable price.

Compatible not only with Nikon but also with Canon cameras, which makes it an ideal choice for multi-camera studios. Ok, if the SB-5000 is made in China, you got me there, but we don't know what the working conditions and salaries are in Nikon vs. Godox factories in China. I would expect that the employees within Nikon factories enjoy roughly similar working conditions independent of location, though of course this is just my guess and not based on inside knowledge. I do know that Nikon flashes are repairable and do get serviced. The battery is a smaller capacity than the ever popular v860ii. I’ve found in practice I’m able to shoot two weddings per charge. Whereas the v860ii, I could easily get through three weddings before having to charge the battery. So again I think Nikon speedlights to be overpriced. (not to mention Nikon was manufacturing in China too till october 2017 which renders our view on supporting the exploitation of workers at least discussable) I can't remember who gave me this tip. So unfortunately I cannot credit them. It was one of those things I read on a Facebook group.

The V1 features 2-Axis rotation, meaning you can tilt and rotate the V1's head to bounce off any surface that is close to you. The head features a small lip which means it will not hit the body even with its special round head design. Not the B10 but the B10 plus I wouldn't know why a 500W/s light could not work as a main light for 'normal' use? The umbrella test in this review shows that an umbrella is more evenly lit. However, this is not the whole story: the umbrella used in the review is quite large at 173cm and with a smaller umbrella the difference will no longer be visible. But even so, I did the same test with my 60inch umbrella and sure enough, the round head of the V1 gave a more even illumination, clearly visible. Then I used the built-in wide-angle diffuser of my rectangular flash head and... the difference was gone. The built-in wide-angle diffuser in a rectangular flash head works wonders in an umbrella (you do lose about 1 stop). In practice I always reach for the V1 first. Mainly because of the better UI. To the point that I no longer even take my Godox v860ii with me anymore to weddings. Out of the two, the V1 is the better flash. Built-in Godox 2.4G wireless X system offers all-in-one function and great compatibility with other devices working in this system (lamps, transmitters, etc.) In fact, up to four wireless groups can be controlled in a master/slave configuration so that the settings made in V1 are duplicated on the slave lamps. You can use SB-5000's as on-camera flashes and as optically triggered remotes on CLS-compatible older camera bodies. However, radio control is only available with the D5, D850, D500, D7500, Z6 and Z7, for now. MAGNETIC MOUNT: The front of the Godox V1 light has a magnetic system allowing you to attach a range of modifiers directly onto the product. This will fully support the Godox AK-R1 Kit allowing you to make instant changes easier than ever.
