Freezing conditions are not always problematic for EASYJoint, however the volume of water used during the application process can potentially freeze. Start once the paving has dried and the joints are drained, applying virtually no pressure to the tool - it is only to finish the joint, not compress it. As well as providing rapid set concrete for backfilling around manhole gullies and frames, which can also be used for surface repairs around street furniture. Grout joints normally set within 12 – 18 hours although we would generally recommend leaving them for up to 48 hours to ensure they are fully set before use.

We advise cleaning the soles of them before walking across dried (or drying) paving to avoid leaving “footmarks”.

If using the wet method, ensure that the bedding mix is permeable and made up from a mix no stronger of 6 parts sharp sand to one cement. It is easier to use EASY Joint with two people, one of them to sweep the compound and the other one to spray the water. A stronger mix may cause the base to become impermeable and this will mean that water does not drain away.
